Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 2, 2026. Accessibility is central to what we do — in our vehicles and on this website.

Our commitment

Veterans Transit is committed to making transportation and information accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a practical standard for this website.

Website measures

We work to provide:

  • Semantic headings, landmarks, and labeled form fields
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, forms, and interactive components
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Color contrast that meets or exceeds AA thresholds for body text
  • Layouts that reflow for desktop, tablet, and mobile screens
  • Support for browser zoom and text resizing

Transportation accommodations

Our fleet includes ramp-equipped, wheelchair-accessible vehicles with proper securement systems. We accommodate walkers, canes, portable oxygen, and service animals, and offer curb-to-curb, door-to-door, and door-through-door assistance. Tell us what you need on your ride request and dispatch will confirm the right vehicle and driver.

Alternative ways to book

If any part of this website is difficult for you to use, call dispatch at (800) 555-0142 and a team member will complete your ride request with you by phone. Family members, caregivers, and facility staff may also submit requests on a passenger's behalf.

Known limitations

Some third-party content, such as embedded maps or documents, may not be fully accessible. We will provide the same information in another format on request.

Feedback

We welcome reports of accessibility barriers. Email accessibility@veteranstransit.com or call (800) 555-0142 with the page or situation and what happened. We aim to respond within three business days.
